So I reformatted my Time Machine partition (note that my other partition on the same external as FAT32 has been perfect since I bought the external harddrive).

This problem was solved for a solid amount of time, but on Feb 1, I got the same error again just in my regular use of my external harddrive.
#Disc repair maschine how to
My other partition on the external hard drive has always been fine.Īny ideas on the causes of this, or how to fix this aside from reformatting every 1.5 months? Its worked fine for about 1.5 months since it did this last. I tried looking at it through Disk Utility, and I found "Repair Disk" grayed out, and when I click on "Verify Disk", the output is:Įrror: Filesystem verify or repair failed. You must back up your data and reformat the disk as soon as possible. It is being made available to you with limited functionality. The disk "Backup" was not repairable by this computer. It would be advices to contact TDR and discuss your needs with them. For the second time, my Time Machine backup partition reports errors when I try to mount it (exists on my external hard drive via USB).Īs soon as I plug in the USB external, I get this error: Really though it depends on the conditions of your disc, what their worth and how many you need to clean per day / week, from that you can work out a budget and select a machine that is suitable for your needs. I myself having used the VMI 3550 and Eco Clever, they both have their benefits and disadvantages, one being quick / loud / light repairs while the other being slow / deep scratches/ high maintenance /expensive, looking for something in between and less than £1500 I did try out the VMI Hybrid 2 while it looked hopeful it had some issues that were not sorted at the time of release on the unit I demo's. In small retail stores they usually use the Disc-Go-Devil for personal repairs and in bigger ones like Game who would offer a disc repair service they would use the Eco Clever.

Very Heavy and Requires a lot of space and regular maintenance, it's not the fastest but not that loud and its the best at cleaning up to deep scratches and bluray, get this machine if you need the best and you can justify the price, the supplied are not that cheap also. It can clean light to light media scratches and very quick and low maintence, it's not that big but heavy and extremely loud, it's also not expensive. If you need to clean discs very quickly and go through around 30-50 discs a day so you require speed then go for the VMI 3550 Buffer. High Quality Disc Repair Machines, From The Leading UK Supplier TDR have quite a few cleaning machines and good customer service, they usually let you try out one of their machines, so just check through what they have. So sometimes it can be better to clean the discs yourself using your own machine if you can justify it. A lot of stores would abuse the machine and use it till it pretty much would require a service over a short period, maintaining it over a long period and the machine would last longer. To save money or time they would also not change the supplies just reset it giving you a poor cleaning service. In terms of high street disc cleaning 1 disc is around £2-3, and you can usually get a deal for 3 discs for £5, but quality varies as those not technical would not maintain or service their machines or select the adequate mode for cleaning.
